2027 Mountain State Land Use Summit

We are thrilled to be hosting the third annual Mountain State Land Use Summit in Elkins! Join us May 18-20, 2027 as we dive into tested strategies and ground-breaking ideas in land banking, planning, conservation & preservation, public land management, and forestry!

Land is the foundation for strong communities and resilient economies. Join others who care deeply about how land us used, why place matters, and how thoughtful land use can support a vibrant future for West Virginia.

Call For Proposals

We are seeking presentations with current, relevant information and instructional content on a wide range of topics involved in land use and reuse in West Virginia.

The primary topics for the Summit are Land Banking, Planning, Conservation & Preservation, Agriculture, Public Land Management, and Forestry. While fundamental issues such as financing will always provide the foundation for effective land use, we hope to go beyond these traditional topics to present a program that is inventive and forward thinking. We are looking for a variety of session formats, including: interactive workshops, roundtables, case studies, and mobile tours, in addition to panels and traditional presentations.
